What is the Meaning & Definition of pride

Known as one of the seven sins along with anger, lust, gluttony, sloth, envy, greed and vanity, hubris is a characteristic common to the human being which involves the constant and permanent autoalabanza that a person does on itself. Pride is also an attitude of constant self-admiration that causes the person in question to stop to consider the rights and needs of those who surround it to consider them less and less important.
Pride is a characteristic feature of human beings since it has to do with the development of self-consciousness and of each individual as a unique and separate from the environment in which it inhabits, capacity that does not exist in the case of animals. We recognize ourselves as beings capable of many skills, powers and virtues is resulting in the existence of pride. Although pride can occur in all individuals at some point in their lives in more or less profound ways, one speaks of pride specifically when traits of vanity and autoalabanza of a person become exaggerated.
Pride is one of the defects of the more criticized by the majority of the religions which based their theories on the development of virtues such as humility, respect and delivery to the corresponding God, compassion and selflessness by the material issues. This is especially visible to Christianity which, in addition to those already mentioned, points to the pride as one of the most important and serious sins that the human being can commit.
Today post-modern societies are characterized by the existence of large numbers of these attitudes because of the importance given to the individualism, the notion of social and economic triumph as exclusive consequence of individual achievements and not the social achievements or the context, selfishness and other many circumstances that trigger high levels of arrogance and narcissism on thousands of individuals.
