Meaning and Definition of Accordion | Concept and What is.

What is the Accordion?

The accordion is an instrument of wind of popular music. It is an aerophone (wind instrument) laptop which consists of two keyboards and a system of tabs whose sound is actuated by bellows and whistles running with both hands, opening and closing the accordion.

The accordion could have originated in the middle ages, time in which there was a portable organ, which is known by tapestries, paintings and stained-glass windows of cathedrals. Other two theories point coming from instruments based on tabs, one produced by Père Amiot in the 18th century, Chinese knowledge-based, and the other a creation of Eschembach based on the Tipotono of Paris. Despite these theories, the accordion is considered a modern instrument invented in Germany by the Austrian Kiril Damian in 1829 and later perfected by the French Buffet. It became very popular in Central Europe, especially in Italy, which was the country that most marketed it. The accordion became an instrument of the people, famous especially in Europe, America and part of Asia.

The accordion basically consists of a set of tabs or whistles, which are metal parts that vibrate when in contact with air pressure and produce sound. The bellows, is an essential part of the accordion it is that makes the tabs to vibrate. Furthermore, on each side of the bellows, are two resonance boxes. I tell you that only counting the tabs and the bellows, we are talking already of a musical instrument, since they are capable of producing sound; However, the accordion is equipped with two keyboards that help the instrument to a greater amount of tones or to have polyphony. Therefore, the keyboards in the accordion are considered expendable. In addition, the accordion is equipped with many other components such as the fingerboard, corner, melodic, low buttons, springs, keys, belts support and closed tops, boot, boot wind, two flutes made up of five Combs on the right side containing 186 metal tabs and 93 plates of melodies. It also has two combs with 62 tabs and 36 plates of harmonies on the left side. Finally, there is a pad on each tab and two frames attached to the boot.

The way of producing music with this instrument is to stop fluctuating air by opening and closing the accordion while the keyboard is touched. The sound changes according to the type of accordion which are two: the Diatonic and the chromatic accordion. The chromatic is also called accordion piano, since it has a piano keyboard, and also simply chromatic, if you have black and white buttons. Diatonic accordion also called buttons and has round buttons on the left and on the right.

In the case of the piano accordion, accordion player playing the keyboard with his right hand. In the case of the achromatic or buttons, right hand operates the set buttons. In all cases, the part of the right hand corresponds to the scales (treble), and the part of the left hand bass and chords.

I tell you that today, the accordion is interesting to many composers because of its large sound capabilities; even it is considered as one of the main instruments of the 21st century.
