The process of apprehension (or assimilation) information contained in a medium and which is transmitted by some codes is reading. This code can be Visual, auditory or tactile.
What is generally meant by reading is a process that involves several steps, such as viewing (a look at the words), speech (the joint oral, conscious or unconscious), hearing (the information transmitted to the ear) and mentalization (understanding).
Critics, in turn, is a judgment or a test carried out on something. People who specialize in judgments about works of art, shows and books are referred to critics.
The concept of critical reading refers to the technique or process that allows to discover the ideas and the underlying information in a text written. This requires a reading analytical, thoughtful and active.
The critical reading, therefore, is the preliminary step to the development of critical thinking. It is by understanding a text in its entirety and discovering the implicit message of the content beyond the literal message that it is possible to assess its assertions and judgments based.
The only text that can be criticized is that is understood. Therefore, the critical reading is associated with a thorough understanding of the information. When this level of understanding is reached, the player is able to accept or reject the idea of the author with a responsibility on its decision. Then, to promote critical thinking, it must first have the critical reading skills.
