What is the Meaning of Future | Definition and What is Future
The future is the time to come, the future posterity. It is a situation that is to come. Examples: "That is what the future will bring our inhabitants?", "I am eager to know how our future will look", "experts predict a bleak future for the country due to financial obligations which the State must assume in the next years."
The concept is thus synonymous with future (which is coming). This means that, if you look at a calendar or a time line, the past appears before present (because it's already happened) and the future after (not yet reached).
The future has not yet materialised: it is therefore a likely guess speculations, theories and calculations regarding future events. According to the case, it is possible to anticipate or predict the future on the basis of the data available at the present time. If a ten litre bucket of water has a leak that makes it lose a litre per hour, it is possible to predict that in ten hours, the bucket will be empty. Thus, it is expected that the bucket is empty in the near future. It is not possible, however, to predict the future accurately because unexpected may arise (in this example, that the loss be important).
One speaks also of future to refer to future generations, that is, to those who will later live.
Many streets include the word "future", which as the street of the future in the 20th arrondissement of Paris (in France) and the deadlock in the future in Liège (in Belgium).
