Meanings, definitions, concepts of daily use

Simulation, from the latin simulatĭo, is the action of simulate. This verb refers to the action of represent something imitating or claiming what is not.
Examples: "the arbitrator considers that the player has made a simulation, reason for which he gave her a warning", «the authorities have asked employees to perform a simulation of vote to check if they meet the required conditions», «the architect presented a computer simulation to discover what the building will look like.
You can define the simulation as experimenting with a model that mimics some aspects of reality, allowing to work in similar conditions to the actual, but with controlled variables and in an environment which resembles the true, but that is created or upgraded artificially.
The simulation is designed to verify the behavior of a person, an object or a system in some contexts which, even being not identical to the reals, are as close as possible. Thus, it is possible to correct the errors before the experience in reality.
The simulations are common in the field of aviation. The pilot training includes practice sessions in simulators that have all airplane orders so they can fly virtually in a simulated environment. Thus, if the driver makes a mistake during his apprenticeship, there is no risk since it is only a simulation. On the other hand, if the error would have been made in a real flight, the aircraft could fall. In this case, the simulation has the advantage to offer a level of safety for practice and to train.
