On the one hand, the depressive period symptoms include feelings of sadness, anxiety, guilt, anger and fatigue. At the same time, complemented with loss of interest and appetite, problems of concentration and self-esteem, apathy, lack of motivation, and shyness.
In manic episodes, on the other hand, the person can be euphoric, irritable, energy and wordiness. The desire or need for sleep decreases, the attention span is lost and the subject is often bombastic, upbeat or creative.
Bipolar disorders are different variants. In some cases, moods can change quickly and others occur slowly. For example, a patient may register between 4 or more changes of mood in the same year. In the pasteurization process cycles, on the contrary, the mood can be altered several times in the same week or even a day, although these cases are less frequent.
Despite the alterations in mood, bipolar patients not usually violent individuals. However, in extreme cases the pattern of change in mood, this pathology is associated with episodes of anxiety and a high risk of suicide.
On the other hand, some recent studies suggest that, as a condition, bipolar disorder can be closely linked to creativity. The relationship is not scientifically proven, but certain investigations have shown an increase in the creativity of the individual to achieve certain goals and objectives.
