What is the Meaning & Definition of earthling

The Earthling term literally means that a person comes from the planet Earth. As all humans and animals we know belong to planet Earth in the absence be discovered life on any other planet, means that the term earthling is usually used in the stories of science fiction and thriller in which beings from other planets or aliens, we are called by that name because they belong to this planet.
The term earthling would be somewhat redundant if it was said by any of us that all the we are and partly that is our essence: as a life within the solar system, the Terrans only known may be those who were born and Live Earth. This is why the word is only used by the aliens in those stories of fiction which tells about a possible contact or invasion of beings from another world from ours. Normally, stories of aliens tend to be attempts of invasion or domain from strangers to the inhabitants of the Earth, by which the meaning given to this term tends to be negative or derogatory seen whereas the aliens are estimated to be higher.
When we speak of earthling we are talking about a person who lives on planet Earth. Another term similar to that is land, which also refers to our planet. However, this latest concept is a little more limited since in some cases used to distinguish all the animals and plants that inhabit the terrestrial space as opposed to those who live in aquatic areas or in the air. Terrestrial animals usually mammals and while a large part of the planet is covered by water, most of the animals are terrestrial.
