What is the Meaning & Definition of Gulf

We call Gulf on that portion of the sea which enters the Earth between two headlands. On the other hand, the term also allows us to refer to the vast expanse of sea which is quite distant with respect to the Earth and in which are not Islands.
Then, the Gulf is a part of the ocean's important extension that is enclosed by Earth probes, which are the ends.
