What is the Meaning & Definition of Twitter
Twitter was created in the year 2006 (although still primitively) by Jack Dorsey, Evan Williams and Biz Stone, in the city of San Francisco, California. The idea of these three young creatives was the of creating a system that would be recognized as the SMS of the internet, in allusion to the system of mensajeo instant that they have cell phones and other communication devices. As the latter can communicate information written in an abbreviated amount of characters, the idea was replicated to an online platform from which users could publish not only for acquaintances if not somebody for their immediate actions.
One of the main features of Twitter, which makes it unique and very particular, is the fact that each user can have their own supporters, people who like reviews and they read what that user publishes on an ongoing basis. This notion of followers is very interesting since it allows that a person may be in contact with people that matter to you most, which is achieved through the clouds of tags or keywords that unite the general interests of the user with other people and thus put them in constant contact.
