September 17, 1968 Anastacia Lyn Newkirk was born on September 17, 1968 in Chicago, from father and singer mother actress on Broadway. Raised in New York, at the age of thirteen Anastacia turns out to suffer from Crohn's disease, disease which affects the digestive system and that forces her to undergo several operations. Shortly after, his parents split up, and she follows her mother to Manhattan with her sister. During the day, follows mom Diane from one theatre to another, but also has time to study and graduate at the Professional Children's School. From disk, who won three times Platinum in Switzerland, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Australia and Netherlands and even five times Platinum in Germany, are also the singles "Not that kind", "Made for Lovin' you" and "Cowboys & kisses". Surprisingly, though, the album gains limited success at home, selling "only" 300,000 copies. Become-however-a world star in a matter of months, Anastacia participates in 2001 at the event "Pavarotti & Friends", singing "I ask of you" with the Italian tenor, and won an Mtv Europe Music Award (Best pop category) and a World Music Award (category World's best selling new female pop artist). In November 2001 out already on his second album, titled "Freak of nature", whose most successful single is "One day in your life" and "Paid my dues". The song "Boom", instead, is used by Fifa as soundtrack of FIFA World Cup held in Japan and South Korea in 2002, the year he participates in "Las Vegas" on VH1 Divas, along with Celine Dion and Cher. The following year, Anastacia, after deciding to run a breast reduction, he discovers accidentally during a medical examination to have breast cancer incident: forced to suspend his career to cope with radiation therapy, back in the recording studio just to record "Love is a crime", the soundtrack of the movie "Chicago." While continuing treatment, he moved to Chicago, where he prepares "Anastacia" album to be released on 29 March of 2004 that contains "Heavy on my heart" and "Where do I belong" tracks that speak of the disease that hit her. The disc, which only in the year of release selling over 12 million copies, marking the birth of sprock, his musical genre which combines soul, pop and rock: the first single is "Left outside alone", followed by "Sick and tired" and "Welcome to my truth". Proceeds from "Heavy on my heart" are destined to an association engaged in the fight against breast cancer. After getting married to Wayne Newton, his bodyguard, in April 2007, Anastacia speaks at the commemoration of the tenth anniversary of the death of Princess Diana at Wembley Stadium in London performing in "Jesus Christ Superstar". Shortly after, start recording "Heavy rotation", her fourth album, which includes among other things Rodney Jenkins and Ne-yo. However the first single, "I can feel you", doesn't win the expected success. In 2009 kicks off on tour, exclusively European, "Heavy Rotation Tour", while in 2010, having divorced her husband, Anastacia is judge of "don't stop believing", British tv talent show inspired by "Glee", alongside Emma Bunton and Duncan James. On 17 September of that year he published "Burning star", Duet with Belgian artist Natalia, and the following year he performed in New York at Radio City Music Hall alongside Gigi D'alessio. After collaborating with Skoda to promote Citigo (for the car brand also affects the single "What we can do"), published at the end of 2012 "It's a man's world", album of unreleased and physically beaten only in Switzerland, in Germany, Belgium and Netherlands, in Austria. To promote the album, organized the "It's a man's world Tour", scheduled for spring 2013: the event, though, is canceled after the recurrence of breast cancer that affects the singer in February of that year.
