Biography of Claudio Baglioni

This great little love for music

May 16, 1951 the popular Italian singer Claudio Baglioni was born in Rome on May 16, 1951, in the District of Centocelle. Just 14 years WINS local contest of young voices. Just two years later she performed in a theatre of variety, gaining with this profession his first 1000 lire. In 1974 Baglioni works in Paris with Vangelis album "E tu". The disc, as well as in Italy, is the first South American charts and also won the Festivalbar. International collaboration continues: plays and sings "Poster" with Astor Piazzolla. Then in 1978 signed a new contract with CBS (which in 1989 will become Sony). One of his more memorable drive "along the way", was released in 1981. Composed "You", a beautiful song-poem dedicated to his son. In the same year his tour "Alé-oo" which will collect a million spectators and two special concerts at the Arsenale in Venice on a floating platform and in piazza di Siena in Rome with 150,000 people. The double album "Alé-oo" sold over a million copies. In 1985 Baglioni is invited to Sanremo to withdraw, singing live during the Festival, the award for song of the century assigned by the Italian public to "Questo piccolo grande amore". Comes out then the album "life is now" (arranged by Celso Valli): the disc remains for 18 months on the charts reaching a staggering 1,200,000 copies sold. His tour "Notte di note" part from Cagliari to finish after 54 dates in Rome in a double concert for 80000 people. It's the first show televised live. "Solo" tour in 1986 in which Claudio Baglioni performed in an unusual three-hour performance in which only on stage playing keyboards, guitars and drums connected with a Midi system. Two years later in Turin, for "Human Rights Now", Baglioni sings his songs including ten "Lullaby of war" with Peter Gabriel and then "Chimes of Freedom" by Bob Dylan and "Get up stand up" by Bob Marley with Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Tracy Chapman, Peter Gabriel and Youssou N'Dour. In 1990 released ' beyond ', an album of 20 songs with many great guests including Pino Daniele, Paco De Lucia, Mia Martini, Oreste Lionello, Phil Palmer, Tony Levin. Five years after the publication of "beyond" and three from the two live album "Together" and "ancorAssieme tour", Lizzie B back to the public with a new work titled "here I am", and is again a great success. The tour will shatter many records of replicas with frequent "sold out". Comes out then "actors and spectators" a new double live album, which includes a new arrangement of "Questo piccolo grande amore". In 1997 Baglioni also collects big hits like tv character, assisting the conductor Fabio Fazio show "Anima mia" on Raidue. For the 100 years of the FIGC (Italian Football Federation) in 1998 writes the anthem "from me to you". Also arrives in bookstores by publishing the photographic book "once upon a Knight in black and white" that retraces the stages of his tour. On June 6, 1998 come true a dream: singing at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, in a three-hour concert in front of 90000 spectators and a tv audience of 4,700,000 people following it live on BBC two. The huge success leads him to replicate the concert "from me to you" Stadio Meazza in Milan, then at Palermo and Naples. Of 1999 is the disc "traveller on the tail of the time". The next job is "it's me, the man in the story next door" (2003), an intense drive with sounds and lyrics very immediate and communicative. The latest effort by Claudio Baglioni is "everyone here," a special library where the Roman singer-songwriter is told through 40 years of greatest hits.
