Peter Cincotti was born on July 11, 1983 in New York to parents of Italian descent (a Neapolitan grandfather and a grandmother in Piacenza). A child prodigy, he began playing on a toy piano at the age of three, and the next year already takes music lessons. At nine years old made up his first songs during this period, he studied at the Manhattan School of Music, coming into contact with jazz thanks to teachers like James Williams and David Finck. Many songs on the album are written with lyricist John Bettis, included the track that it pops up: "Angel town", dedicated to Los Angeles and illusions that it produces. It is a sophisticated and eclectic, with sounds ranging from jazz to rock, from blues to pop. The song "December boys" is chosen as the soundtrack to the film of the same name, released in the United States in 2007.
