Voyeurism Italian

March 26, 1933
Director famous for his films risqué, Tinto Brass was born on March 26, 1933 in Venice. His films (particularly those from 1975 onwards) abused by critics and media (but do not miss an opportunity of advertising them to the great, fomentandone the "pruderìe" issue are surrounded), however, are always listed with curious interest and follow in theaters with large audience participation. Carefree personality and lover of provocations, the young Brass realizes in short time that Italy's strict puritanical 1950s feature and so, after studying law, he decided to move to Paris, where for some years he worked as an Archivist at the Cinematheque Francaise. Back in Italy, becomes Assistant Director to Alberto Cavalcanti and the tutelary deity of Italian directors, Roberto Rossellini.
His beginnings as an author are of a high standard and in the shadow of big names: in 1963 he made his debut with the film "Chi lavora è perduto" and a year later he directed two episodes, "The bird" and "the car", for the film "my lady", starring Silvana Mangano and Alberto Sordi. In 1966, with the film "Col cuore in gola" starring Jean Louis Trintignant, initiates the series of films have become known as "Londoners", "black on white" (1967); "The scream" (movie of ' 68 that was censored) and "Drop out" starring Vanessa Redgrave and Franco Nero. In 1975 wears the turning point of the disparate themes author: Brass passes that had characterized his previous films to focus on the theme of eroticism and its "liberation". Produces a pair of decidedly strong at the time, films like "Salon Kitty" and "Caligula". Ridden by now the vein of voyeurism, Brass will not stop anymore. In 1979 it was the turn of "Action", still modest, but in 1983 became famous for the creepy "the key", which won him the most established national tabloid covers about avalanches, due to the presence of an actress of worship as it was Stefania Sandrelli in those years. Not to mention that it wasn't common to see an actress of such fame perform erotic evolutions in a safety deposit box (as we would call it today).
At the box office, the film goes excellently and even criticism, for once, is sympathetic with the Director. Two years after the coup attempt and return to the screen with Brass "Miranda", in which dominates starring another icon of Italian erotic dream, the abundant Serena Grandi; However, this became just the movie of Brass. The main feature of Brass, in fact, is the formidable talent scout or rather of beauties. Skill who perfected movie after movie. Aside from Stefania Sandrelli, that when he arrived at his court was already well established actress, all other protagonists were on their first movie experience, but they then become famous thanks to advertising that invariably punctually kick drum you are creating around the film. From here to become appreciated and more "correct" female entertainers is a short step. In 1986, for example, "Whim" launches Francesca Dellera, then ubiquitous face for some years between the television screen and Chronicles. Four years later it was the turn of Debora Caprioglio, protagonist of the film "Paprika".
Tinto Brass in 1991 he directed "COSI fan tutte" with Claudia Koll, and in 1994 "L'uomo che guarda" with Katarina Vassilissa. Since the mid-' 90, Tinto Brass continues to produce a film every two years, but "Poste restante" (1995) "Monella" (1997) and "Tra (sgre) dire" (1999) had a poor result from audiences and critics. Experts say the King of erotic cinema is running out of original ideas and his later movies have a screenplay almost non-existent. In his new movie the protagonist is one of the greatest Italian actress Anna Galiena, appreciated by international cinema, made famous by the movie "the hairdresser's husband." Tinto Brass has also had experience of a theater director, a field in which he remembers his directing a play by Roberto Lerici, "family meal", a show filmed for five times, from 1973 until 1986. He was married to the scriptwriter and Assistant Carla Cipriani (whom he called "Solid"), who died in 2006: he has two sons, had by his wife, Beatrice and Bonifacio. After his wife's death began a relationship with Caterina Varzi, psychoanalyst, former lawyer and actress. In April 2010 is the victim of a brain hemorrhage, from which he recovers with help from Catherine's Companion, but that nearly took away the memory and the use of the word.
