The term Far East or also Far East,
designates a conventional geographic area located to the East of the
Eurasian continent, composed by a number of countries that have
different cultures. Its inhabitants tend to be called Orientals. In human genetics is sometimes referred to the region as Eastern Eurasia by contraposicon with Western Eurasia. A
region consisting of the regions of East Asia and Southeast Asia is
usually considered, but often is also included to Eastern Siberia and
sometimes to the Indian subcontinent.
The denominations East Asia, East Asia and East Asia (Eastern
Asia, which is preferred by the United Nations Organization is called
in English) are considered more modern than the European name Far East, which describes the region in geographical terms of position in relation to Europe and not its relative location in Asia; However, according to some this term not equals of Eastern Asia, as they consider that the meaning is different. Similar case occurred with the ancient Chinese, who called Western countries (Taixī, 泰西) all those West of the Indies.
