Juan José Arreola
Mexican narrator and actor

He was born on September 21, 1918 in Ciudad Guzmán, Jalisco (Zapotlán el Grande).
Self-taught, he learned to read "hearsay" and never completed elementary school.
In 1936, he came to the capital and was enrolled in the school of Theatre from the National Institute of fine arts (INBA).
In Mexico, Arreola did with Rodolfo Usigli, Xavier Villaurrutia and theatre in France with Louis Jouvet and Jean Louis Barrault. Member of the theatrical group "poetry out loud"; He created literary workshops, he directed important publications (those present, notebooks and books of the Unicorn, the magazine Mester and editions of the same name, during the 1960's).
He published various invention (1949), Confabulario (1952) of all time (theatre, 1954), bestiary (1958), the fair (novel, 1963); his last written work, the word education (1973), is a compilation of their oral statements.
He received numerous distinctions, such as national Linguistics and literature prize 1976, National Journalism Prize, National prize of cultural Television programmes or the award of the Government of France officer of Arts and letters in French.
Juan José Arreola died on December 3, 2001, in Guadalajara, Jalisco (Mexico)
