Both the organic and operational point of view, the first functional elements is the "supplies", which covers one of the broader sectors and greater interest of the technical logistics and is the axis of the logistics of the Material.

Critical role of the supply chain

Supplying function falls within the field of logistics and supply chain. Ensures the level of adequate stock to meet service objectives (to avoid stock ruptures) and stock level (respecting the objectives of stock coverage).
It is a critical function of the supply chain. This explains that the supply function was at the center of the new techniques developed in the logistic area (forecast demand, shared management, supply synchronized on the production line).
The supply function has the responsibility for managing the life cycle of the product (introduction of a new product, end of life, promotional product) avoiding breakage of stock and Constitution of obsolescence. Function key indicators (KPI) are therefore the rate of service and coverage / stock rotation.
Supplying function ensures the communication with providers, or overflow warehouses, in such a way that share order planning envisaged in the medium term and to anticipate the changes in trends (shared management of supply). In some organizations are providers that perform the supply of the stock of its customers according to agreements and stock policies directly preset.

You can identify three main domains:
• Demand forecasting and planning for future needs.
• Communication to suppliers and logistics warehouses to ensure the availability of products and future resources.
• The implementation and management of purchase orders.
An example of supply is the water, to which is supplied by Wells and artificial rivers, and with the money you can solve; but there are countries that do not have these conditions, for example, Somalia.

The world and the supply of drinking water

Water is a resource that in certain cities tends to take for granted, given the supply system to present home for decades. But the thirst in the world is one of the most worrying issues of today; some specialists predict that for the year 2025, it is possible that 3 billion people lack water supply necessary for living.

Concepto de AbastecimientoMore than 300 years, rainwater catchment systems are used in several countries for personal consumption. In Mexico, for example, this technique of hydraulic collection is common in certain cities where the drinking water contains high amounts of salts and produces kidney stones. However, not all people are supplying water by these means have the infrastructure necessary to maintain the reservations under hygienic conditions.
Ignorance about the needs of other countries, as well as lack of interest in the care of our planet begins by the Government and by the schools. The human being is characterized by acting when the catastrophe. In cities such as Buenos Aires, the water supply service is charged with a fixed amount; i.e. do not vary according to the consumption. In this way, millions of people wasting large amounts of this precious resource, while in other parts of the world there are those who spend months without renewing their reserves.
On the other hand, in countries where you are charged by the amount of water consumed, its inhabitants take precautions not to pay more. Unfortunately, this does not mean that these people are aware of the situation above, the possibility of a drought around the world within a few decades; they are simply taking care of its own economy, with a vision quite circumstantial and selfish. The solution, once again, lies in education, the joint effort and respect for the environment.
