Meaning of segmentationMarket segmentation is the process of dividing, as his word says of segmenting a market into smaller uniform groups that have similar needs and characteristics. While consumers who fail to identify themselves with any segment of the market suffer from this phenomenon, others oppose the universalization, fearing that those distinctive features of their favorite products be diluted. The solution, as discussed in previous paragraphs, is complex and sensitive, while companies are experimenting with different messages, they will lose the sums of money that may be impossible to recover.
