Concept of supply

Supply is a term that is linked to the action and the consequences of supplying. This verb refers, moreover, to provide what is necessary for survival.
You can say, therefore, that supply is an activity that consists in satisfying, at the proper time and in the appropriate way, the needs of persons with regard to the consumption of some resource or commercial product. The notion, generally equates to the supply or the English term supply.
At the economic level, the supply appears linked to the logistics and supply chain. This string must have the demand from consumers and ensure the delivery of the products to distributors, to prevent the depletion of units for sale. Curiously, some firms, especially manufacturers of electronic products, used the lack of stock as point of sale, because to get to that point it is necessary to have had much success with the proposal.
The sourcing process, therefore, encompasses all those activities that enable the identification and the purchase of goods and services needed by a company or other entity to operate.
Supply chain management is responsible for establishing the relationships between its various components and integrate activities to fulfil its objectives.
Beyond trade, it could said that the supply of food to citizens is the most important obligation of a Government. Without food, there is no possible life; with poor feeding, development cannot be completed.
In Cuba, finally, supplies book is a notebook that allows you to keep track of rationed food authorities delivered to citizens. It is a system of control that includes one increasingly smaller amount of products.
The world and the supply of drinking water
Water is a resource that in certain cities tends to take for granted, given the supply system to present home for decades. But the thirst in the world is one of the most worrying issues of today; some specialists predict that for the year 2025, it is possible that 3 billion people lack water supply necessary for living.
For more than 300 years, rainwater catchment systems are used in several countries for personal consumption. In Mexico, for example, this technique of hydraulic pickup is common in certain cities where the drinking water contains high amounts of salts and produces kidney stones. However, not all people are supplying water by these means have the infrastructure necessary to maintain the reservations under hygienic conditions.
Ignorance about the needs of other countries, as well as lack of interest in caring for our planet begins by the Government and by the schools. The human being is characterized by acting when it comes the catastrophe. In cities such as Buenos Aires, the water supply service is charged with a fixed amount; i.e. it does not vary according to consumption. In this way, millions of people wasting large amounts of this most precious resource, while in other parts of the world there are those who spend months without renewing their reserves.
On the other hand, in countries where per quantity of water consumed, its inhabitants take precautions not to pay more. Unfortunately, this does not mean that these persons are aware of the situation above, raised the possibility of a drought worldwide within a few decades; they are simply taking care of its own economy, with a vision quite circumstantial and selfish. Solution, once again, lies in education, the joint effort and respect for the environment.

What is supply

Supply is the result of supplying that comes in suetimologia of abastar, and in turn of "it bastare" or "bastús" meaning enough.
Supply can be defined as what is provisioned for what is needed, otherwise is shortages which implies lack of products or recursosnecesarios according to the purpose concerned. For example: "I need to supply my refrigerator, I had no supplies," "is necessary supply of the population with water resources, since the drought was intense" or "has been supplying electricity and potable water service to far away from the urban area populations".
It is also a term widely used in the business world, alluding to the stock of products, of matter prima, energy, technological or human resources with that has to meet the needs of demand in certain period of time.
The lack of supply, in addition to the monetary losses, may cause delays in production when it comes to raw material or resources, or dissatisfaction of the demand that will tip to buy elsewhere, with the resulting improvement of the positioning of the competition in the market.
Therefore, the supply must follow a process that begins with the receipt of inputs and their control in quantity and quality, according to the copy that sends the shopping sector. If conformity with reception, the second step of the process is the storage, where you accumulate, they control and care received items. Finally, when in storage, they observe the reduction of stock to the minimum necessary, returns to inform the sector purchases to restart the cycle and prevent shortages.
