1 Meaning of unusual

Something unusual is something that does not happen often, is often surprising for being of limited appearance, even if it's something little striking, though not common, can go unnoticed. It is contrary to repeated use, than usual, is what breaks with the routine, which sometimes is good and other times not.

For example, if a person used to live in a quiet neighborhood and suddenly moves one busy, feel in an unusual environment, although for the inhabitants of the latter, the situation will be completely normal.
Some disorders such as schizophrenia in mental status, define behaviors that are unusual for the rest of the people, while in financial transactions and consumption, it is considered as a result of unusual losses, expenses or gains that exceed of greatly expected.
