Concept and Meaning of Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a concept composed of two Latin words: acus ("needle") and punctura ("needle"). It is a therapeutic technique that develops with needles inserted on certain points of the body.
Acupuncture is part of traditional Chinese medicine. It is designed to restore the State of health of the patient via the insertion and manipulation of needles on the human body. The lack of scientific evidence of its effectiveness, acupuncture is generally included in the alternative medicine group.
It should be noted, however, that acupuncture points (that is, the points of the body where the needles are introduced) are standardized by the World Health (who) Organization. This entity recognizes acupuncture as an effective way to treat dozens of diseases and disorders. UNESCO, for its part, said acupuncture and moxibustion (using the pressed plant roots) as part of the cultural heritage of humanity.
Eastern philosophy considers the human being as a whole, where the components are linked together. The vital energy or qi (also called 'chi') flows through the body through meridians or channels king. And after traditional acupuncture, there are 361 points in the twelve meridians of the body on which we can act. Inserting a needle into a specific point of the Meridian acupuncture to balance the energy of the body that governs this Meridian.
As a result, acupuncture stimulates or enhances a depression on points to rebalance the energy of the body, because it is considered that the diseases are, in this sense, an imbalance of qi.
