Anarchy is a concept derived from the Greek language and mentions the absence of public power. In such a situation, the position of the State becomes brittle, who is more able to exercise the monopoly of the use of force.
Anarchy therefore occurs when a Government fails to enforce the law in its territory due to a political upheaval, institutional conflict or a social crisis. Sometimes, people do not even know the power of the Government in question, which manages the chaos. Thus, the notion of anarchy is also used in colloquial as a synonym for commotion, disorder or chaos.
Examples: "the opposition asked President to use the army to put an end to anarchy", "people are tired of living under anarchy and without clear rules", "since the Director has resigned, this school became a true anarchy."
The political doctrine which defends anarchism is anarchism. Anarchists are favourable to a form of social organization which provides the State insofar as they do not believe the domination of man over man. To this end, they encourage the institutions formed by the free agreement of the citizens, without use of force.
The symbol of anarchy is the letter A surrounded by a circle. This circle represents the unity and balance of the natural order, without the need of a vertical order. The black flag is another symbol of anarchism. Here, the uniform color represents unity and black reflects the purity of the ideal because it can not get dirty or stain.
