Collection takes its name from the latin word collectĭo and refers to all of the things belonging to the same class, gathered for their value or their interest. Who develops or who organises a collection is a collector.

All of the creations of fashion presented by a couturier for a certain season is another meaning of the concept of collection: "the Italian fashion designer has launched its spring-summer collection with a grand parade on the beach", "the winter collection includes clothing in blue and green.
