Collection takes its name from the latin word collectĭo and refers to all of the things belonging to the same class, gathered for their value or their interest. Who develops or who organises a collection is a collector.
Examples: 'my uncle has a large collection of bottles of wine","When I was little, I kept my collection of matchboxes in a box","the collection of old banknotes of money that has been put up for auction yesterday reported more than a half million dollars.
Collecting is usually a hobby or a pastime. Collector dedicates his time and invested his money to increase his collection while having fun. Most of the time, he exposes in his own home or in a museum.
Types of collections can be as varied as human interests. Among the objects of collection the most common there is mention money tickets, coins, stamps, matchboxes, packets of sugar, postcards, autographs, bottles, Pocket calendars, cans and perfume bottles.
A collection can also be a series of books or other products which are published under a common title due to their characteristics in common: "tomorrow, a new collection of books police will be for sale", "I'm going to make the collection of Tintin aircraft launched by Hachette Collections.
All of the creations of fashion presented by a couturier for a certain season is another meaning of the concept of collection: "the Italian fashion designer has launched its spring-summer collection with a grand parade on the beach", "the winter collection includes clothing in blue and green.
