From the latin specĭes, a spice is a condiment and flavoring of plant origin used for flavouring, seasoning or preserve foods. Spices are seeds or bark of aromatic plants, although the term is often used to refer to the leaves of certain plants.
Examples: "this meat has a very good taste. What spice do you put? ', 'I'll buy some spices for dinner tonight. », «Saffron is my favorite spice.
Most spices are originating in tropical regions of Asia. Throughout history, the spices have not changed much. Indeed, it consumes always the same there centuries back.
With spices, some nutritious foods that are not very tasty can improve their taste, without altering their properties. The secret is to use spices in a good amount because their excess can cause a reverse effect and give an unpleasant flavour.

In addition to their use in the kitchen, spices are used in traditional medicine and naturopathy, as did the healers of the past.
