Since the first forms of dramatic representation of the history, the costume has always been an essential part of the works or artistic expressions taking place. From the ancient Greece, artists should always count on some detail of wardrobe that coincide with the spirit of the character to represent and to cooperate to generate a more finished picture of the fictional situation. In modern times, the art of the dramatic costumes are beneficial increasingly creating whole sets of costumes for characters who had to switch their clothes numerous times in the same work depending on the situation.
Today, the costume design can alternate between creations of time (i.e., more or less finished representations of the clothing of the period in which the story is set) and creations of costumes which are present but which undoubtedly are chosen for any reason in particular. The costume can go unnoticed in the eyes of the spectators. However, their presence is always of great importance even in cases in which is not spoken a wardrobe of time since it is another element that serves to define the character and allow the Viewer to find a meaning to the work.
In some cases, the period costumes may require impressive investments, as well as incredible designs and work-months since tend to be very complicated, sensitive and artistic. At the same time, the post-modern plays can show disinterest in the forms of traditional costumes and break with them wearing their characters with rags and soiled clothes.
