Gout is a form of arthritis, is one of the best known diseases since its description dates back to ancient times, the Egyptians knew it, Hippocrates made reference to it in the 4th century BC, whereas the disease of opulence, throughout history there is description of important characters who were affected by this disease, many of them noble and members of Royal families , that was known as the disease of Kings. There are specific drugs to lower levels of blood uric acid as well as to stop the crisis of drop, however one of the most important measures is to decrease consumption of foods high in purines and alcoholic beverages.
