The taxonomy can be applied to any aspect or area of life, even outside of science. While the idea of taxonomy is often mainly relate to the natural sciences such as biology (from the classification of animal, plant species, etc.), the reality shows us that one can perform a process taxonomic from any kind of knowledge or data set that may exist. For example, can be classified collection of books can have one by author or name of work and both ways would be carrying out a process of taxonomy.
One of the features of the taxonomy is that it allows grouping or sorting data in small or specific way sets such that they can be accessed much easier and indicating its particular and specific features. This is clear when speaking of animal species that are descended from the same group, for example the cats being progressively classified and caratulados according to differential features between each of them. Thus, groups such as class, subclass, order, suborder, family or tribe are concepts common to biological sciences (for example) that serve to go placing of greater child existing living beings. Then, classified and organized data can be performed with analysis and much more appropriate and complete observations that allow best final results.
