What is the Meaning & Definition of Temperance
Temperance, regardless of religion, is a virtue that can be found in each and every one of the humans that we all possess the ability to find us beyond carnal and sensory pleasures. Temperance is the ability that has human rise in body and spirit to develop a lifestyle greater contact with what surrounds us from an emotional and spiritual standpoint.
While in today's society it incites permanently in search of enjoyment through the sensory or sexual-related activities, there are numerous and varied ways to achieve Temperance through communication between humans, philosophy, art. In this sense, temperance was also praised by rational societies such as the Greek, that in which the presence of reason, balance and moderation were essential elements of spiritual and mental purity.
Temperance is opposed to binge, to the uncontrolled and unbridled, lacking in goals or interests and purely sensory enjoyment. Normally, it is considered that the attainment of adequate and accurate levels of Temperance has to do with patience and the passage of time as fundamental element for human gain experience, meditate and closer to perfection.
