The body human and vertebrate animals is provided by organs, tissues, and several systems, all of them are responsible for an action, a feature that contributes to the satisfactory functioning of the body in general. Therefore is that each from its place is necessary and any complications somewhere, no doubt, will affect the normal development.
Meanwhile, the thyroid is one of the most important glands we have human and animal vertebrates in the body. That importance lies precisely in the value of the functions and actions that stars: production of hormones and proteins, regulation of body metabolism and the sensitive response of the body against the hormone action.
Its location in the human body occurs in the area that we recognize as a neck on the front and on the trachea.
As we deployed above, one of the most outstanding features of this gland is the production of hormones, being known as the most transcendent as thyroxine and that is composed of iodine. Its incidence is such because he is credited, on the one hand, control of the production of body energy, being hyper necessary to maintain metabolic rate in normal parameters. And on the other hand is a conditioning factor in development, especially in those years in which the body grows, tissues to achieve correct form and proportion.
The thyroid is often affected by two fairly common conditions such as hyperthyroidism which consists of an enlargement of the gland as a result of the great secretion of the hormone TSH.
Another common thyroid disease is hypothyroidism that is triggered by the presence in the gland of contrary to the same antibodies and causing it to decrease its hormone production.
The faster and more simple way to detect any anomaly in the functioning of the thyroid gland is through a blood test, though there is also some associated symptoms which allows the doctor to make a diagnosis of the results of laboratory, among them priori: depressive state, fatigue, fall hair, fluid retention, increased body weight.
