What is the Meaning & Definition of Tumor

Tumor is called to any alterations in tissues or organs of the body which manifests itself with an increase in its volume. I.e., it's an abnormal part of the body which then will appear swollen enlarged.
On the other hand, we call as a tumor to any bulk that occurs as a result of the increase in the number of cells that compose it, beyond that they are malignant or benign characteristics.
In the case of malignant tumors of invasion and infiltration of metastasis to different areas which are distant from the primary tumor is a recurring reality.
Along with the heat, flushing and pain, tumor is one of the clear signs of the existence of inflammation.
A tumor will be considered benign when it grows way disproportionate or violent, invading nearby organs and tissues and does not cause metastases in distant organs both tissues. Usually, this type of tumor is not a threat to the life of who presents it, and often removed without the possibility of recurrence. To call them used as prefix the name of tissue that causes it and completed it with oma suffix, e.g., Papilloma, fibroid, lipoma, angioma, teratoma, among others.
On the other hand, malignant tumors are cancerous because cells are malignant or cancerous, being able to invade and damage both tissues and organs near the tumor. In addition, the malignant cells can spreading tumor and gain access to the lymphatic system with which the cancer would be reaching other parts of the body. One of the differential characteristics of cancer is the ability of the cells grow rapidly and uncontrollably.
Malignant tumors are grouped in three categories: carcinomas (begin in the epithelium, i.e., in the lining of an organ cells, are the most common cancer type), Sarcoma (are cancers of connective tissue and supporting; they appear in any part of the body and form secondary growths in the lungs), gliomas (cancers of the brain and spinal cord) and (immature teratomas (, type of tumor of embryonic origin).
