What is the Meaning & Definition of Unesco

UNESCO is the name in Spanish of the United Nations, Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (United Nations Organization for education, science and culture), which is the institution that depends on the Organization of the United Nations (UN) and specializing course in the subjects that mentions its name and short: education, culture and science.
When it was founded over sixty years ago, on November 16, 1945, it did so with the clear objective of contributing to peace and security in the world through key areas, such as science, culture and communications, when wanting to achieve the mentioned development.

Preservation of the cultural heritage

The protection and care of the cultural heritage of the world is one of the most recognized tasks of UNESCO. The cultural heritage of a community is the most precious heritage with which it coexists and which should also transmit to future generations, with the mission that contribute to their care and their dissemination.
And according to all those valuable assets to humanity in its whole or a community is extremely important to identify and sort of way.

It nominates and selects the cultural heritages of humanity

In this way those assets may be protected, studied and experienced for themselves and others, providing a unique opportunity to enjoy what has been relevant in some aspect.
The Convention on the protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage is in charge of the task just mentioned. At a Conference of UNESCO, held in 1972, it was decided it would be commissioned to identify, preserve, and protect the cultural heritage of the world. It deals especially with nominating, confirm, and give to know, then, what are the sites declared World Heritage site.
This activity has the support of many countries in the world, and once declared a cultural heritage site is set a whole commitment to humanity to preserve it and care for it so that future generations can enjoy it.

Large tourist attractions

Most of these places declared cultural heritage become tourist attractions by its remarkable history or the beauty of the landscape that are contributing to the economic development of the place in which are housed. The Iguazu falls, both in Argentina and in Brazil, the Kremlin in Russia and the statue of liberty in the United States, are some of the many cultural heritages selected by Unesco and which certainly are tourist attractions.

Promotion of freedom of expression

As in the field of communication, Unesco emphasizes its action towards the free movement of ideas, through different media, then encouraging freedom of expression of the professionals of the media, citizens, i.e. scenario information is plural. Specifically it is responsible the international programme for the promotion of communication.
