An acquired right

The notion of vacation is typical of modern societies in which industrialised, planned and governed by fairly rigid schedules work is one of the main features. Historically, different job tasks that human beings could have not distinguished between working time and rest time (beyond some very brief moments that had to do mostly with religious celebrations): man worked throughout the year but did not as intensive as then the industrialized human being would. Enjoy relaxation and rest were exclusive privileges of the upper classes.
It was not until the late nineteenth century and early twentieth Centuries that would begin to talk about the holiday as one of the most important rights for anyone regardless of their social status or task. In this sense, slowly began to recognize that, next to family allowances and retirement, holidays were essential for workers to rest both body and mentally and enjoy the effort of an entire year. And then it became an acquired right contemplated by the legislation.
Certainly we must place the holiday as one of the most important social achievements of the last century.
The holidays tend to cover periods of ten or fifteen days, in some cases up to a month depending on the type of work. Each of these periods is payment, which means that the person continues to receive his salary despite not attending work. In this sense, tourism has grown greatly today and it is normal that for certain times of the year a large part of the population is traveling to destinations to enjoy your holidays alone, as a couple or with your family.
