They will and reason are two very important powers to put human beings showing the rational and volitional nature of the person. Rational knowledge shows people's reflective ability, his ability to discuss the action with the aim of taking a decision or another. Therefore, the will is in connection with the reason as capacity to act. Through the will which is based on freedom, human beings make decisions constantly.
There are some philosophical schools that highlight the power of reason as a driving force in the human being above any other faculty. This is the case, for example, of discards being a rationalist thinker. However, there are also other schools of knowledge that prioritize the will above reason.

This is the case, for example, of voluntarism that is a psychological trend that extols the value of the human will in personal development and the pursuit of happiness.
From the point of view of voluntarism, the will is not subject to reason, but to the contrary, the reason is a faculty that depends directly on the strength of will. From the philosophical point of view, this current also establishes that the will is a fundamental spiritual force in the human being.
The Existentialist thinker Arthur Schopenhauer is one of the authors of the history of philosophy that most reflected on this aspect. In fact, one of his works is titled "The world as will and representation", a work containing the key ideas of the thought of the author. A work that develops ethical thinking focused on the will as fundamental axis of happiness and the life of a human being.

Deciding priority will

From the point of view of voluntarism, the human being makes its decisions in life according to that which is pleasant, appealing and desirable in every moment and in every circumstance. I.e., what is appealing at this time is more important even than that which is rational. A philosophical current that practical reason is more important than the speculative or theoretical reason.
