What is the Meaning & Definition of trigonometry

Trigonometry is another branch of mathematics, which obviously is involved directly or indirectly in this and that deals exclusively with study the relationship between the angles and sides of triangles. Often it is used especially when you need to get precision measurements. For example, triangulation techniques are used in astronomy to measure the distance between the closest stars, in the measurement of distances between geographical points and navigation systems of the satellite, among other issues.
The emergence and the study of trigonometry can be traced to the ancient city of Babylon, being of special interest of study for Muslim, Greek and Indian mathematicians.
Trigonometric functions in ancient times, usually, it defined them are as the ratio of two sides of a right triangle with respect to its angles, meanwhile, nowadays is common to describe them is as infinite series or as the solution of differential equations that will allow the extension to complex numbers and both positive and negative values.
There are six basic trigonometric functions: sine, cosine, tangent, cotangent, secant, and cosecant.
While the last four are defined more than anything else on the basis of the first two, also, you can define them is geometrically or through their relationships.
