Biography of Gianni Boncompagni

May 13, 1932 Gianni Boncompagni (whose real name is Giandomenico) was born on May 13, 1932 in Arezzo, homemaker and military father. He moved to Sweden at the age of eighteen, for ten years in Scandinavia held various jobs, before graduating from the Academy of photography and graphic design and pursue a career as a radio host (during which, among other things, he was able to interview the sociologist Danilo Dolci, in a conversation recorded to this day). He married an aristocratic woman, with whom he had three daughters (including Barbara, future television author), separated shortly after, getting still guardian of small. And so John makes comeback in Italy, where the girls from Guy father and where, in 1964, he won the Rai for light music programmer. Entered the ranks of the public service radio, acquainted with Renzo Arbore, with whom in the sixties and the seventies creates programs such as "yellow flag" and "high popularity": transmissions, in addition to making a new way to entertain, being based on improvisation, creating nonsense and catchphrases and unpredictability, contribute to the spread of beat music in our country. Meanwhile Gianni Boncompagni also made his debut as a singer, even launching for RCA Italiana with the stage name of Paul Paul (lending his voice, for example, the abbreviation of "Guapa"), and as an author: in 1965 writes the words of "Il mondo", the international success of Jimmy fountain that gives him considerable income. Signature, among other things, the soundtracks for the movies "summer" and "I ragazzi di Bandiera Gialla" (the latter also appears as an actor) as well as "will our hero find the largest diamond in the world?" and "Colonel Buttiglione becomes general." Later, it will be also the author of the lyrics to the song "sad boy", by Patty Pravo. In 1977 he moved into television, leading "Discoring" music program for the public young: since that time, work on the small screen with growing frequency, with "Superstar" and "Drim", and becoming an author, together with Giancarlo Magalli, programs like "blunder" and "under the stars" (in 1981), "Illusion, music, Ballet and more" (the following year) and "Galaxy 2" (in 1983). A notable success came in the mid-1980s with "Pronto Raffaella?" broadcast that consecrates Raffaella Carrà (where he was also the fellow, and for which he wrote the lyrics of several songs), and the spin-off "Hello, who plays?", presented by Enrica Bonaccorti. In 1987 arrives in "Sunday": will remain until 1990, consecrating Edwige Fenech as beauty icon (and not just as a former star of b-movies) and Marisa Laurito. Just "Domenica In", moreover, ideas of the audience of young girls cute appearing and crosswords are the hallmarks of "Non è la Rai". "Non è la Rai" is the program with which Gianni Boncompagni switches from public tv to Fininvest. Born in 1991, with driving Enrica Bonaccorti, will air until 1995, turning over time in a program of worship. The broadcast launches numerous girls destined to succeed in show business (Antonella Elia, Lucia Ocone, Miriana Trevisan, Claudia Gerini, Nicole Grimaudo, Laura Freddi, Sabrina Impacciatore), but especially Ambra Angiolini, whose character at the time is a real phenomenon, not always (and not only) in a good way. "Non è la Rai" in fact does not leave aside the controversy: both for the employment of underage girls, both for the scam of crosswords discovery live from Enrica Bonaccorti, both for the endorsement of a very young Amber in favour of Silvio Berlusconi during the elections of 1994 (while Achille Occhetto, rival of Knight, evil was defined). Meanwhile, however, Boncompagni, paired with Irene Ghergo dedicates itself to other programs, such as "Primadonna", with Eva Robin's, and, in the summer of 1992, "guys & dolls", which, with "Rock 'n' roll", is a spinoff of "Non è la Rai". After working in 1995/96 season, "House Carpenter," afternoon broadcast conducted by Alberto Castagna, the author aretino back in 1996 and 1997 in Rai, deals, on Raidue, "Macao": first presented by Alba Parietti and then from Pi (a graphic character created to replace the show-girl piemontese), the program represents an evolution of "Non è la Rai", with new characters (are launched among others, Enrico Brignano and Paola Cortellesi), an audience of extras (this time composed by males), choruses and songs. After, in 1998, of the artistic Committee of "Festival di Sanremo", realizes for Raidue "cruise", Prime-time broadcast presented by Nancy Brilli, which however because very low audience closes after only one episode. "Cruise" is a source of scandal in the House Rai, both for the high cost of the program (including the set design) and for the controversy between Banda and Carlo Freccero, Director of network that calls itself disappointed by the author and Director and that the launches vitriolic accusations. The Codacons even calls for an investigation by the Court of Auditors, to determine whether the money used for programme implementation (a kind of musical comedy works, it does not exceed 9% share in December of ' 98) has been used correctly. An opportunity to rebuild, Gianni Boncompagni, however, comes a few years later, when signing up with Piero Chiambretti and Alfonso Signorini "Chiambretti there," aired on Raidue. After being the Director of the "Tribute to Gianni Versace", Elton John concert held in Reggio Calabria in June 2004 and is broadcast on Rai International and Raidue, Banda is coauthor of "Domenica In" in the season 2005/06, before moving on La7. On 23 October 2007 inaugurates "Bombay", broadcasting from minimalist scenography and enlisting-predictably-girls singing and dancing. Based on the nonsense, the program relies on wacky guests and prestigious guests (including Renzo Arbore), but only airs for twelve episodes. Back in Rai, in 2008 Banda is coauthor of "Carramba che fortuna", alongside her beloved Raffaella Carrà, while in 2011 is part of the jury of "Let me sing!", talent show broadcast from Raiuno.
