April 9, 1969 Giovanni Allevi was born in Ascoli Piceno on April 9, 1969. He graduated from the conservatorio Francesco Morlacchi in Perugia in 1990 with honors in piano; in 1998 he graduated in Philosophy with honors with a thesis entitled "Il vuoto nella Fisica contemporanea". In 2001 he graduated in composition at the Milan Conservatory and attended the Accademia Internazionale di Alto Perfezionamento "in Arezzo, under the leadership of maestro Carlo Alberto Neri. Giovanni Allevi lends in 1991 the military service in the Italian Army National Band: piano talent does not go unnoticed that the master of the band decides to include the piano soloist in his repertoire. As a solo pianist of the band, John performs George Gershwin's "Rhapsody in blue" and "Warsaw Concerto" by Richard Addinsell, taking him on tour in many Italian theatres. He finally retired from military service, presents in concert a repertory that includes solely their own compositions for piano; at the same time he attended courses of "Bio-music and music therapy" by prof. Mario Corradini, in which he analyzes the topic of the power of music to make it free, to evoke memories, images and emotions. In 1996 Allevi composes music for tragedy "the Trojan women" by Euripides that is represented at the International Festival of ancient drama in Siracusa; with these wins the special award for the best music. In 1997 he won the international selections for young concertists at the "San Filippo Theatre in Turin. In order to devote himself to music, professionally and to search for a "market" which grant him more chances, Giovanni Allevi matures the idea to move to Milan, then a friend's advice and countryman Saturnino Cartwright (bass player from internazionale). Confirming the intellectual engagement and cultural value of his artistic figure, he was invited to hold a seminar on "music of our time" at the University of Stuttgart, Pedagogy and the relationship between music and philosophy at the School of Philosophy in New York. In 2004 he teaches musical education in a middle school of Milan. The statement in the international arena as a composer arrives from Baltimore Opera House (USA), for the reworking of the recitatives of "Carmen" by Bizet, one of the most popular and well known operas from audiences around the world. In April of 2005 Giovanni Allevi performs at the Teatro Politeama in Palermo, in a "première" of his first work for piano and orchestra "leaves of Beslan", with 92 items in the Sicilian Symphony Orchestra that commissioned the composition. Also in 2005 receives two major awards: in Vienna is awarded the title of "Bosendorfer Artist", for "international importance of his artistic expression", and from his homeland, "Recanati Forever for music" for the excellence and the magic with which caresses the keys of his piano. In May 2005 he released his third album for piano solo: "No concept" (Bulletin/BMG Ricordi) also presented in China and New York. The song "like you're really" taken from this album is chosen by the great American film director Spike Lee, as the soundtrack to a new spot in the BMW international. No concept, from September 2005 is also published in Germany and Korea, then in other countries. On September 18, 2006 the Arena Flegrea di Napoli received the "Award" as the best pianist of the year "Carosone for melodic sense of his pianism, [...] for his moving beyond gender barrier, outside any category and definition". On September 29, 2006 released "Joy", Giovanni Allevi album which in 2007 received the gold record for passing the 50000 copies sold. In the same year alongside Luciano Ligabue in several dates of his acoustic tour in theaters. In 2007 accompanies on piano Simone Cristicchi on "letter from Volterra" album track "the other side of the gate." In the same year his hit song "Back to life" is used as the theme song for the new Fiat 500. Giovanni Allevi welcomes the proposal to write the hymn of the marches that occurred in September 2007 on the occasion of the visit of Pope Benedict XVI in Loreto in 2007 national youth meeting. On 12 October he publishes "Allevilive", composed of a double cd where there are 26 pieces from his four previous discs plus the unreleased "Air". The November 30, 2007 comes out "Joy tour 2007" his first dvd, that presents a preview of the IULM University of Milan; in December is on tour with "the Chamber ensemble" of "Philharmonische Camerata Berlin." On June 13, 2008 he released his fifth work for piano and orchestra titled "Evolution", which is also the first album in which Abbas is accompanied by a symphony orchestra. The December 21, 2008 plays the usual Christmas concert at the aula of the Senate of the Italian Republic. The event will be the head of State, Giorgio Napolitano, as well as the highest institutional offices. Abbas conducts the orchestra sinfonica de "I virtuosi italiani". In addition to his own compositions, performs music by maestro Puccini to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth. The proceeds of that concert are donated to the Bambino Gesù in Rome and the entire event is broadcast live on Rai Uno. The highly successful commercial television and the deeply negative judgments by some big-name draws of classical music: especially exploding controversy for their chosen Breed to the direction of the Christmas concert.
