Anastasio Bustamante
Military and Mexican politician, President of the Republic (1830-1832; 1837-1841)

He was born on July 27, 1780 in Jiquilpan, Michoacán.
He studied art at the Seminary of Guadalajara and medicine in the City of Mexico.
In the year 1808 she gets ready in the Royalist Army as a cavalry officer. Takes part in the actions of the army of the Center and became a Colonel. In 1821 he adhered to the Plan of Iguala in the Hacienda de Pantoja and took Celaya and Guanajuato. It was Marshal field and Captain General of the Provincias of the West under the iturbidismo that always contrariness.
He held the Vice-Presidency of the Republic in 1829, being President Vicente Guerrero, and led a coup that same year which took the Presidency , after the Government of a Provisional Board, in 1830.
He was banished in the year 1833. He fought in the war of Texas and in 1837 again assumed the Presidency of the Republic according to the new Constitution. Remained in power until 1841, when a triple ruling military in which participated the general Santa Anna overthrew it.
In 1848 Anastasio Bustamante settled in San Miguel Allende (Querétaro), where he died February 6, 1853.
