Biography of Alex Britti

Alexander Britt, for all known as Alex, was born on 23 August 1968 in Rome. He founded his first band at the age of seventeen, when he begins to perform in some local Romans where it is noted for his extraordinary talent on guitar; in the following years, he manages to work with artists like Buddy Miles, Billy Preston, Louisiana Red and even Rosa King, Dutch bluesband that follows on a European tour. His first album, entitled "Alex Britt", dates back to 1992, but the album passed over in silence; Alex, however, participate in Concerts of May 1, 1994 and 1995, during which time produces the soundtracks of the films "men without women" and "Stressed", both by Gianmarco Tognazzi.
He devoted himself, meanwhile, writing new songs, which are proposed to record companies: in 1997 the Universal Music puts him under contract, releasing the single "what I want". The success in Italy arrives in 1998, thanks to the single "only once (or a lifetime)" summer hit climbing the music charts with over 70,000 copies sold. In the fall, so the musician gives Roman published his second album, six years after the first, entitled "En." Pop ": will sell more than 300,000 copies. In 1999 takes the stage of the Ariston at the Sanremo Festival, with the song "Oggi sono io", which allows him to triumph in the category of new proposals. Following the publication of the album "3" with the songs "the Gypsy" and "the dreamlife", and "Party", which features songs written in collaboration with Maurizio Costanzo, and the singles "how much I love you", "Party" and "take it or leave it". In 2006 aims at Sanremo Festival "alone with you", which reached third in the category of men, and back to success with the Duet "Midsummer night", sung by Edoardo Bennato: the two embark on a joint tour that runs through all of Italy. After recording the single "Los Angeles" and "Neverland" (cover of the song by Edoardo Bennato), collaborates with Claudio Baglioni for the disk "Q.P.G.A.", playing guitar on the song "Piazza del Popolo"; on 25 September 2009 published the single "it's raining", which anticipates the release of the album. "23", realized with the collaboration, among others, drummer Paco Sery, bassist Darryl Jones (who in the past has played with the Rolling Stones) and saxophonist Bob Franceschini. The album also appear harpist Cecilia Chailly and the violinist Davide Rossi (former Assistant to Coldplay and Brian Eno). After writing the song "immature" film soundtrack by Paolo Genovese with Luca Bizzarri and Paolo Kessisoglu, Ambra Angiolini, in 2012 gives life to the project "Mo better blues": an array of four instrumental concertos where he plays alongside Marco Guidolotti (clarinet and baritone sax), Daniele Sorrentino (bass guitar and double bass), Roberto Paredes (drums), Julian o. Mazariello (piano) and his friend Stefano Di Battista (alto sax).
