Biography of Guido Ceronetti

Inexhaustible humanistic sensibility

Guido Ceronetti was born in Andezeno (common twenty kilometers from Turin), the day August 24, 1927. Poet and philosopher, journalist, writer and translator, playwright, actress and puppeteer, Italian Ceronetti is man whose erudition and humanistic sensibilities seem inexhaustible. He began working with various newspapers in 1945, arriving at the newspaper La Stampa in 1972 where he continued to collaborate. In 1970 created the Theatre of Sensitive setting up, together with his wife Erica Germans, touring shows with his "puppets ideofore". Canton of Lugano, in the archive library 1994 Prezzolini opens the bottom Guido Ceronetti, which he jokingly referred to as "the bottomless Fund". This collects various material including manuscripts, published and unpublished works, books of poetry and translations, letters, notes on various disciplines, film and radio subjects. Among the wealth of documentation are also numerous drawings of artists (also made for Sensitive Theatre): graphic works of the same Guido Ceronetti, collages and cards. With the latter in 2000 an exhibition entitled "from the pocket of time: the postcard says". Of particular note is his work of translation, both from Latin (martial, Catullus, Juvenal to others), both from the ancient Hebrew (Sacred Scripture). Guido Ceronetti has also been known to be a distinguished proponent of vegetarianism.
