Rachida Dati was born in Saint-Rémy (France) on November 27, 1965. Spokesman for the candidate for President of the Republic Nicolas Sarkozy in the 2007 election, she became Minister for Justice on May 18, 2007. Rachida Dati has dual citizenship: French for jus soli (right of soil) and Moroccan cuisine to jus sanguinis (right of blood). She is the first woman and the first non-European Arab family to occupy a ministerial position so important in a French Government.
