Roberto Calderoli was born in Bergamo on day April 18, 1956. Graduated with honors with a degree in medicine and surgery, he began his career working as a doctor in maxillofacial hospitals. Political experience begins with the movement of the Lombard League, which in 1993 became President; from 1995 until 2002 will be national Secretary. Very noise caused one of his televised interview at TG1 that dates back to February 15, 2006: talking about freedom of expression in Europe, following the fallout from the publication of some of Muhammad cartoons (published in the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten) that have triggered a series of violent protests in the Islamic world, the Minister Calderoli shows a t-shirt with playing one of those caricatures. The news of the shirt by Calderoli, considered blasphemous, Iranian "Iran Daily" newspaper is published.
Two days later in front of the Italian Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, explodes in a violent protest against Minister Calderoli: the Libyan Police shoot on the crowd killing eleven protesters. The Minister invoked on all sides, by the President of the Republic Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, allies of the Government and the opposition: Calderoli resigns the next day. From May 7, 2008 holds the post of Minister for legislative simplification in the Berlusconi IV Cabinet.
