Sergio Conforti was born in Milan on February 13, 1964, keyboardist (also self-defined "keyboardist"), with the stage name Rocco Tanica is the soul band "Elio e le Storie Tese". At the age of six participated in selections zecchino d'Oro presenting the song "the waltz of the GNAT", but is discarded. The following year he began attending the Milan Conservatory. After a few years he began to attend art school without finishing his studies. Leave the Conservatory to start working as a musician: he toured with Roberta Flack in 1981, then with Francesco Guccini and Francesco De Gregori; his piano in the slow version of "l'estate sta finendo" (b-side of the famous song by Righeira; there will be a story that will end up in court for economic reasons).
He joined the group "Elio e le storie tese" in 1982, presented by brother Marco Chan, manager of the group. His collaborations with other music artists are numerous and range in years and kinds, from Claudio Baglioni to Massimo Ranieri, rich and poor, Stefano Nosei and others. Rocco Tanica plays keyboards in "clouds" (1990) by Fabrizio de André. He also wrote texts for some comedians like Paola Cortellesi and Claudio Bisio. the latter is a personal friend (Bal is frequently asked to intervene in the disks in the Group Elio e le Storie Tese) and has edited the preface of his book "Quella vacca di nonna papera" (1993).
Together with Claudio Bisio and actors Alessandro Haber and Andrea Occhipinti participated in the film by Antonello Grimaldi "the sky is always blue" (1995); also appears in the film Monica Bellucci, who would become in later years international star and Rocco Tanica won't hesitate to call it "colleague". Even his famous "courts", short pieces in the style called "insane" (but according to some this is degrading) created with a painstaking job of copy-paste on some accomplishments of Italian pop music, presented during the radio program "Cordially" (on Radio Deejay, hosted by Linus in conjunction with the members of the Group Elio e le Storie Tese). After the first experiments on popular songs the technique of Courts has been extended, with the same surreal effect, such additional audio tracks (sonorous Fables, documentaries, NEWS summaries, etc.) creating hilarious results. Rocco Tanica is also an experienced user of the "vocoder", a voice modulator that exploits the intonation of a typed note from the keyboard and the plasma to the pronunciation of the singer on duty (for example is used also by international singer Cher).
The goal of the milanese musician is obviously to get from this valuable electronic AIDS, sounds comical to impersonate so some alter ego. Rocco Tanica Yes is a nickname, but it is not the only one: it is also-sometimes known as Chan tank, Sergione, Hammid, Renato tench, René, Ronco, Balaji R, Roncobilaccio, Blade, Total lover, star fruit, New Boosta, Hematocrit, Luigi Calimero, ethnic, Rock Tank. In 1999 still looks at the cinema in the film "Donkey" by Claudio Bisio. Her popularity explodes further in 2006 when it appears a "Zelig Circus" tv show of cabaret (5 channel) sample of plays: Rocco Tanica plays original and hilarious parody of the singer Ditches Compartment, Ivano Fossati. In 2007 he starred as Leonard in the program "Slag" (Rai Due) led by Nicola Savino: here Tank hints to singers piano music, improvising Samarasinghe with the participation of Lookrezia, the girl image. Leads a surreal newsletter entitled "Almost Tg", produced by Endemol and Vodafone Italy, also aired on the satellite channel FX; similar work is the "TG" heading of the transmission Tank "Crozza Italy" (7) by Maurizio Crozza. On February 20, 2008 comes out in bookstores, his first book entitled "selected writings." In 2014 takes part at the Sanremo Music Festival as a member of the "Jury".
