Biography of Vincent Candela

Vincent Candela was born on 24 October 1973 in Bédarieux. He grew up with football Montpellier, with whom he becomes champion of France barely seventeen years (without ever playing), he started his career as a professional footballer in 1992 at Toulouse, where he remained until 1995 scoring 56 League appearances and scoring 3 goals. His debut in the French first division in October of 1992, while at the end of the season 1993/94 the team was relegated to the second division. The following year the Toulouse fails to win promotion, and Vincent Candela moves to Guingamp, also a team won the Intertoto Cup in 1996 and where he remained until January 1997 (the total score is 48 appearances and 2 goals), when he moved to Rome.

World champion with France

In 1998 Vincent Candela, playing for France (with which she had already participated at the Olympic Games in Atlanta two years before) won the World Cup that will be played right in the House: Les Bleus after an exhilarating ride, defeated Brazil in the final of Ronaldo. During the tournament, Vincent Candela found little space, as the left wing is occupied by Bixente Lizarazu: has, in any event, the opportunity to play in the last group game against Denmark (with France already qualified to round of 16).

European champion

Always with the French national team won Euro 2000: at the expense of, in this case, is the Italy of Dino Zoff, who is beaten in the final into extra time with the golden goal by David Trezeguet. Even so, coach Roger Lemerre employs it sporadically: Candle play only against the Czech Republic and the Netherlands.

In Italy

In Rome, instead, Vincent, used initially as a left back by Zdenek Zeman, is transformed into the outside of midfield by Fabio Capello. His experience in the capital led him to win, among other things, a League title and an Italian Supercup in 2001. In 2002, with France taking part at the World Cup Championship in Japan and South Korea, playing against Uruguay and Denmark. In August of the same year, takes the field for the last time with Les Bleus, during the friendly against Tunisia: this is his 40th national presence (with whom he also scored five goals). Experience with Rome, instead, it lasts for another two and a half years: it is only after nine seasons at the Club, with 280 matches and scored 16 goals, which the French footballer was sold to Bolton Wanderers in January 2005.

The experience in England and return to Italy

The British team includes until June (in the meantime become father of Angelica, had by his wife Mara), when he returns to Italy called by Udinese coached by Serse Cosmi: with the Friuli, among other things, has the chance to return to play in the Champions League, and in competetion also scored one goal in away match, against Panathinaikos. In the summer of 2006, Vincent Candela leaves the club well and passes to Siena: his experience in Tuscany, however, only lasts a few months (a total of 14 games), and in the winter transfer market session on French side is transferred to Messina. Even militancy in shore to the Strait does not last long, and so Candle-remained without crew in summer-3 September 2007 announces to the site of the French sports newspaper "L'Equipe" plans to retire from racing. In 2008, however, back on the field, albeit at an amateur level, wearing the shirt of the albatross, the team that plays in the first category of Lazio. Vincent Candela withdrew officially from football on 5 June 2009, when the farewell match at the Olympic Stadium dispute specially organized in his honor: to battle it out in front of over 40,000 spectators are players from the 1998 World Champion France and Rome champion of Italy in 2001. On 22 July 2014 Candle is placed in the Hall of Fame of Rome; a few months later he was called to join the cast of the tenth edition of "dancing with the stars," the variety of Saturday evening of Raiuno presented by Milly Carlucci, in which he performed, dancing alongside r. Elle Niane.
