Definition of assumption

The city of Asuncion is the current capital of the South American country of Paraguay, founded in the year 1537 and is therefore one of the oldest cities of the continent. Asunción is located to the southeast of the country and its coasts are bathed by the Paraguay and Pilcomayo rivers. As with other Latin American and global cities, Asunción, the capital district of the country, is an independent territory that does not share his Government with any other region or province of larger. Assumption is not only a political Center (since in the State meets its three powers) if not one more tourist urban areas of Paraguay. Assumption has a surface of about 117 square kilometers and a population of 680 thousand inhabitants which can exceed two million if we add the population of metropolitan and surrounding areas. Assumption always played a very important role on the continent, being one of the most important cities of the Viceroyalty of the Río de la Plata in colonial times. In addition, it is historically a place of cultural confluences in which the Spanish tradition, the guarani and other native to the region co-exist in unique and very particular.
Asunción climate makes the city a relatively cold in winter and hot in summer. Its climate is subtropical because is located below the Tropic of Capricorn. Its average temperatures come easily to 35 degrees Celsius in summer and 14 degrees Celsius in winter, which is very little compared to other regions of South America. As with many other Latin American cities, Asunción account renewed, and very modern spaces especially enjoyed and visited by tourists, as well as areas where poverty and misery are clearly visible.
