Definitions, concepts and meanings of Demonology

Definition of Demonology

Demonology literally means study or knowledge of the demon. Those engaged in this analyzes the nature of the demon (should not be forgotten that it receives other names, such as Satan, Devil...). Likewise, this discipline tries to establish a hierarchy above on the various evil beings and their influence on the human capacity.
For believers in the existence of the devil, knowledge of everything related to it is something entirely necessary, as the demon intends to bring evil and harm to men. As a result, if you want to fight evil, is necessary to know its main author, the devil.
Demonology is a discipline (use the word science is quite inadequate) that opposes another: angelology, i.e. the reality of los angeles as kindly beings. From a religious and specifically Christian point of view, the demons are fallen angels, as they were opposed to the will of God.
The idea of the daemon is part of the cultural tradition of all mankind. It is present in art, ancient rituals, Satanic churches and in the same language (when he scolds the children are told "you're meaner than a demon"). In any case, is in the Bible where are different references about these evil beings.
As a symbol of evil demons
The existence of evil in humanity is an indisputable fact. However, it raises questions among the believers. There is a question that has been raised many times: why Dios consent to evil. The religious response is two-fold. On the one hand, because the man is free when making decisions and, secondly, because the evil spirits and the devil trying to mislead human beings and lead them by the way of sin.
The idea of demons and Angels has another interpretation from the religious point of view. It is not real beings, but that they are a symbol of good and evil.
Scholars of Demonology not present this knowledge as something symbolic, as if it were an allegory which serves to explain a concept, for them it is real beings that threaten the man. However, science has shown that the only sense of some of the claims of the Bible is allegorical type (for example, in the Bible the world was created in seven days, something that does not correspond to the scientific data).
Like all religious subjects, Demonology has a component of mystery and eternal debate. And there are two sides in this type of controversy: the believers and advocates of dogma and, on the other hand, those who see demons as a belief based on superstition.
