Definition of déjà vu

The concept of déjà vu is a French concept, whose translation to the Spanish would be "already seen", because just from the same may be referred to the experience of feeling that already has lived or witnessed, above, a new situation. The denomination of the phenomenon is due to psychic French Émile Boirac, who lived between the years 1851 and 1917.
Then, déjà vu, also known as reduplicative, usually occurs in the mind of people accompanied by a combination of feelings, on the one hand, familiarity and moreover of strangeness. Scholars of the same attribute that feeling already having experienced something new to a previous dream that the individual has had. To be noted, that in some cases is so convinced of having lived the situation which is finished to believe that in fact it was so.
There are three types of déjà vu, on the one hand déjà vécu (something that feels like experienced), on the other hand, déjà felt (something appropriately felt that will remain as a mental fact; not available pre-cognitive aspects and normally does not remain in the memory of the individual who experiences it) and finally déjà visited (it would be something like "already visited" and involves the strange feeling to believe know a place that you visit before for the first time; It is less frequent than the former).
According to statistics carried out in this respect, at least 60% of people confirm having ever experienced a sense of déjà vu. However, turns out to be extremely complex to recreate this experience in a laboratory, therefore, is that there are many experimental studies on the subject. Some scholars say that it is quite possible to create a sense of déjà vu through hypnosis.
A curiosity regarding the déjà vu is that it has been addressed repeatedly in works of art and mentioned all too often in popular culture. Two extremely well-known in the seventh art examples are Matrix and the production starring Denzel Washington just entitled déjà vu. In the first the déjà vu is a mental system failure and in the second case the déjà vu stands as the key to decrypt a crime.
