Biography of Florian Cloud De Bounevialle, aka Dido Armstrong

Charmingly insinuating

December 25, 1971
Born in London in 1971, Florian Cloud De Bounevialle, aka Dido Armstrong (but she prefers to be called simply Dido), is the daughter of a "literary agent" and of a mother which is also active in the world of letters (looks like it is a prolific writer of poems). From an early age, Dido was struggling with the music even through serious study and as thick as those performed at the London Guildhall School of Music, without ever forgetting the passion for pop, a genre with which he dealt immediately founding groups and sneaking in nightclubs. An important role in this regard played his brother, also a musician, who at one point in his artistic experience had the good idea to involve them in projects related to his band "Faithless". By this time the singer in the band as a second vocalist, it's getting its electronic music and experiment of sound, resulting in the two albums "Reverence" and "Sunday 8:00 pm" well received by the public.
Despite bow approvals almost everywhere, but a solo career, thinks maybe Dido to develop freely his idea of music. The year of change is the 1997 when a manager of Arista, bewitched by his vocal qualities and unusual charisma of the singer, not aggressive, deeply enchanting and insinuating, proposes a contract for a solo album. Fortunately, the brother is not opposed and indeed enthusiastically supports the new project. "No angel" is the result of this long journey, a chore that struggles to be understood by the market and it takes more than a year to establish itself on both sides of the Atlantic. "Thank you" became part of the soundtrack of lucky film "Sliding doors" (with the star Gwyneth Paltrow); then the television series "Roswell high" exploits as initials "Here with me" and finally Eminem samples the first verse of "Thank you", creating around this the now famous "Stan", one of the pearls of his highly successful The Marshall Mathers LP.
The breakthrough came: starts selling a ridiculous number of copies of his first album, which is even reprinted in a Special Edition. From a participation in his brother's productions, the new editions of your favorite songs and important collaborations (including those with Britney Spears, Beats International and Santana), in 2001 Dido has won a major prize at the MTV Europe Music Awards for best new Act. At that point the audience (and especially the record), ahead of the opening of the second trial, the specter of everyone coming to the success. In fact, there are countless cases of artists got "easily" to success but then be unable to maintain it.
Dido she tried again with "Life for rent", wise mix of pop and electronics, whose single "White flag", was awarded the honor of countless passages on MTV and on all international radio. The sweet singer-songwriter has, therefore, continued its March toward a wider success and solid mixing various genres (from folk to rock, from hip-hop to dance), in a graceful and unique.
