The concept of entertainment is one that is used to refer to all activities related to leisure and the enjoyment of a person or a group of people. The entertainment is related to the word entertainment, which can be transitive verb (Entertainment) or intransitive (entertain another). In any case, regardless of how carry out entertainment, always we are referring to the Act of keeping the attention of someone attached to something through games, called attention, participation, fun, pleasure, etc.
Usually, when it comes to entertainment the term is used to refer to activities related to the world of the spectacle, for example television, live shows, sports, cinema, etc. All of these options are considered to be entertainment in the sense that serve to keep people entertained in situations in which participation is voluntary and has to do mainly with the desire to find pleasure, fun and access to leisure. The possibilities depending on each case may be public entertainment (such as for example, a rock concert) and private (for example, watching TV at home).
Throughout history and depending on each society, the term Entertainment has had different meanings that vary according to the interests and preferences of each region as well as the historical moment. In this sense, what in other times might be considered as entertainment probably wasn't it today due to present a variety of options and above all because of the importance that have events such as technology and communications that allow the information and technological improvements to reach all parts of the world much faster than before. Entertainment, currently could be described much more from the point of view media than of the domestic environment where used to develop previously. On the other hand, the traditional public spaces of entertainment have lost value against new public spaces related to issues such as new technologies, new types of shows and performances, etc.
