What is the Meaning & Definition of Neolithic

The study of prehistory has developed a chronology of periods that seeks to sort data and findings according to shared characteristics. In this sense, the Neolithic is considered the final phase of the stone age which begin approximately around the year 9500 BC and which would develop up to 3500 when built of stone tools began to be replaced by metal.
During the Neolithic period would take place one of the largest in the history of humanity and most important changes: the invention of agriculture. With this fabulous progress, prehistoric men went from nomadic men to sedentary beings who already did not need to take large tracts of territory in search of food. Agriculture would mean the most significant technological advance because it independizaría the man of nature to transform him into a being able to provide himself with food.
To the mnismo time, during the Neolithic period man was able to make the domestication of animals which would be kept as livestock and that would also serve as food, pack animals and providers of shelter, among other things. Domesticated animals varied according to the region of the planet, but most were animals such as donkeys, sheep, goats, llamas and guanacos. They remained close to the dwelling of human beings in species of ranches. Also in the Neolithic period man reached the skills to develop ceramic and woven materials that would allow him to keep food as well as shelter from the cold.
The Neolithic name comes from the Greek and means "new stone", just the opposite to what it meant to the Paleolithic. This name is related to the meetings dated to this time showing that human beings could build tools more complex than simple rocks sharp, in addition to invent a large variety of instruments that were used for different activities.
Finally, in many spaces investigated for this period, the remains showed researchers that Neolithic man created different kinds of symbols and elements that were magical and religious meanings. Normally, the same were within dwellings (which proves that the religious cult was carried out there), or around them.
The Neolithic period would decline to human power dominate the metal, an element much more difficult to work. Thus, it would start around 3500 BC the bronze age.
