What is the Meaning & Definition of polygon

Means polygon that geometric shape that is made up of many sides, being the same willing either regular or irregular. The polygon word comes from the Greek and means "many angles". Polygons are flat shapes that are also closed and that normally have from three sides on (being square-different types of polygons or triangles). Polygons are composed by several sides, which are those that give limit to the figure and mark its surface, in addition to defining them in space. The sides of a polygon are always closed, so this type of geometric figures can be never unopened. When two sides come together, or come together in a point forms an angle that will be characteristic and distinctive of this type of polygon-specific element, which may be larger or lower depending on type of union of sides that is generated. This angle can never be 180 degree however because if so it would be a new segment or line. Other elements that make up the polygon are diagonals, those straight lines joining two or more non-adjacent vertices, the perimeter or sum of the sides that make it up, the internal angles and the external. On the other hand, regular polygons, which are composed of similar or balanced sides together, have a clearly marked Center and an apothem or the line that joins the Centre with one of its sides. Polygons according to the number of sides who have taken different names. Thus, the most simple or basic are the triangles (polygons first which can form since there are polygons of one or both sides), the Quad and the Pentagon, respectively with three, four and five sides. Then they follow the hexagons, the heptagons, octagons, the eneagonos and the decanogos to then follow infinite way. A megagono is, for example, a figure that has a million sides.
