BIBLICAL TEXTS FOR THE STUDY

(Psalm 65:2) O Hearer of prayer, to you people of all sorts will come.

[ 4 ]

(Psalm 34:15) 15 The eyes of Jehovah are on the righteous, And his ears listen to their cry for help.
(Proverbs 15:8) The sacrifice of the wicked is detestable to Jehovah, But the prayer of the upright is a pleasure to Him.
(Matthew 6:11-13) Give us today our bread for this day; 12 and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And do not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the wicked one.’

[ 6 ]

(1 John 3:17) But whoever has the material possessions of this world and sees his brother in need and yet refuses to show him compassion, in what way does the love of God remain in him?

[ 7 ]

(Matthew 6:30-34) Now if this is how God clothes the vegetation of the field that is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much rather clothe you, you with little faith? 31 So never be anxious and say, ‘What are we to eat?’ or, ‘What are we to drink?’ or, ‘What are we to wear?’ 32 For all these are the things the nations are eagerly pursuing. Your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 “Keep on, then, seeking first the Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these other things will be added to you. 34 So never be anxious about the next day, for the next day will have its own anxieties. Each day has enough of its own troubles.

[ 8 ]

(Matthew 4:4) But he answered: “It is written: ‘Man must live, not on bread alone, but on every word that comes from Jehovah’s mouth.’”

[ 9 ]

(Matthew 6:12) and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
(Luke 11:4) And forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is in debt to us; and do not bring us into temptation.’”
(1 John 5:3) For this is what the love of God means, that we observe his commandments; and yet his commandments are not burdensome,

[ 10 ]

(Psalms 49:7-9) None of them can ever redeem a brother Or give to God a ransom for him, 8 (The ransom price for their life is so precious That it is always beyond their reach); 9 That he should live forever and not see the pit.
(1 Peter 1:18, 19) For you know that it was not with corruptible things, with silver or gold, that you were set free from your futile way of life handed down to you by your forefathers. 19 But it was with precious blood, like that of an unblemished and spotless lamb, that of Christ.
(Colossians 3:13) Continue putting up with one another and forgiving one another freely even if anyone has a cause for complaint against another. Just as Jehovah freely forgave you, you must also do the same.

[ 11 ]

(Leviticus 19:18) “‘You must not take vengeance nor hold a grudge against the sons of your people, and you must love your fellow man as yourself. I am Jehovah.
(Matthew 18:35) My heavenly Father will also deal with you in the same way if each of you does not forgive your brother from your heart.”
(Matthew 6:14, 15) “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; 15 whereas if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
(1 John 3:4) Everyone who practices sin is also practicing lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.
(1 John 3:6) Everyone remaining in union with him does not practice sin; no one who practices sin has either seen him or come to know him.

[ 12 ]

(Matthew 4:1) 4 Then Jesus was led by the spirit up into the wilderness to be tempted by the Devil.
(Matthew 6:13) And do not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the wicked one.’
(Genesis 3:4, 5) At this the serpent said to the woman: “You certainly will not die. 5 For God knows that in the very day you eat from it, your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and bad.”

[ 13 ]

(Matthew 4:3) And the Tempter approached and said to him: “If you are a son of God, tell these stones to become loaves of bread.”
(James 1:13-15) When under trial, let no one say: “I am being tried by God.” For with evil things God cannot be tried, nor does he himself try anyone. 14 But each one is tried by being drawn out and enticed by his own desire. 15 Then the desire, when it has become fertile, gives birth to sin; in turn sin, when it has been carried out, brings forth death.
(Luke 4:13) So the Devil, having finished all the temptation, departed from him until another convenient time.

[ 16 ]

(1 Corinthians 10:12, 13) So let the one who thinks he is standing beware that he does not fall. 13 No temptation has come upon you except what is common to men. But God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear, but along with the temptation he will also make the way out so that you may be able to endure it.

[ 17 ]

(John 15:19) If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, for this reason the world hates you.
(1 John 2:15-17) Do not love either the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him; 16 because everything in the world—the desire of the flesh and the desire of the eyes and the showy display of one’s means of life—does not originate with the Father, but originates with the world. 17 Furthermore, the world is passing away and so is its desire, but the one who does the will of God remains forever.
(Revelation 12:12) On this account be glad, you heavens and you who reside in them! Woe for the earth and for the sea, because the Devil has come down to you, having great anger, knowing that he has a short period of time.”
(Revelation 12:17) So the dragon became enraged at the woman and went off to wage war with the remaining ones of her offspring, who observe the commandments of God and have the work of bearing witness concerning Jesus.
